Just made this me and my girlfriend's song<3 We both love this so much.

if i could go back in time i would meet benny goodman

The music took dancers and just listeners away from the realities of the Depression. I drive by the old Vanity Ballroom in Detroit and still hear the strains of Goodman, Teagarden, Shaw, Armstrong, etc. The building is vandalized and abandoned, but nothing can move away those memories.
I enjoy a clarinetist named Dave Bennett, twenty something but a clarinetist phenom. Give a lesson on his website. His idol is Benny G. of course!

Sometimes I think it would've been great to have been around in those days; to get the feeling, to see all them greats and smell the air at first hand. But then again it was hard times. Some of the music was recorded and could still be listened to!

Artie Shaw's arrangement beats this one to death. No comparison.

I beg to disagree. Artie Shaw with the Gramercy five is thrilling but somewhat behind!
