MENTOR FILM MAKER: Sarah Moss
SYNOPSIS: A young girls story about gummy sharks in the Lake near where she lives.
SCRIPT: This is a short story about a blazing hot summers day when my best friend, my cousin and I went over to the Lake.

After fishing for a while we decided to go for a walk along the Lake shore.

We walked and walked until we reached the wharf.

When Im hot I like to swim at the local swimming pools but not in the Lake. I dont swim in the Lake because of the Gummy sharks.

On this particular hot summers day we were resting at the wharf and we spotted 8 dead gummy sharks in the water lying at the bottom of the rocks.

They were all about 2 feet thick. A gummy shark is greyish white and its gums are whiter than its teeth. Dead gummy sharks have floppy tails and are hunted for their teeth.

My cousin went into water curiously looking in the sharks mouths for teeth, but he didnt find any. I think the teeth are taken to sell or turned into jewelry.
