I worked as an RA my second semester, and if you can get the job, go for it. It's not too bad, and it gives you some living money while your in New York, so you don't have to live off of Ramen. Yeah, the housing sucks, but if you spend all your time in the dorms, you're wasting your time anyways. It's New York! Enjoy the city! Or spend ten hours rehearsing, whatever floats your boat.

A little both. I got scholarships and Fafsa so I didn't pay a crazy amount. but now i'm paying back loans and such and it's tough. But alot of colleges are alot of money and you'll be paying back anything forever unless you're fortunate enough to have your parents help. You can also apply to be an R.A. your second semester and that is free housing.
