vv: It was sometime in 2001.
Bam: ....
vv: The next time when he came to Helsinki to skate..he came to do skateboarding demo stuff or filming the videos..I don't remember.. and then probably Arto Saari had broken his leg.. and he was not in Helsinki.. so I was the only.. familiar guy whom Bam knew. And I kept care of him by taking him to bars and feeding him reindeer meat and by carrying him piggyback back to the hotel when he got tired.

vv: Graphic point of view, the symbol is a very great invention from un graphic person. I think Heartagram is basically my most successful work of art..including music. Heartagram is the best thing which i can leave after me.
intv: We stayed the fact that you mentioned the Bam.
vv: Well you mentioned
intv: You mentioned the Bam
vv: You mentioned it last.. hahahha.. Well continue..
intv: When you met Bam for the first time? and what you have done together during those years?
-
vv: Well yes, I realized immediately that it was a good symbol and I have always liked those symbols, whether they be political, religious or related to popular culture, or clothing. But I can't alone bring the symbol forward. And then..it has required that the t-shirt has been in right shop at the right time and then all of a sudden people have started to love it. Also thanks to Bam. And then it has spread out of control.
-
vv: And I think it is important that the album title is easy to remember. When we made a debut album I thought it was really good that it was called the Greatest Lovesongs. I think it was a snooty act from teenage man.
intv: Going back to the Heartagram for a moment. When you drew it, would you have ever been able to think that it goes like this, well today we saw many people who had Heartagrams tattooed..
-
vv: HIM is like a collective manner as Jamie Lee Curtis before her genital surgery, which is reportedly made for her.. She was born hermaphrodite. Maybe we are not just as resolute. I think it relates to music.. we are the metal heads with big hearts.
I don't know it starts even boring myself, it has become obvious. But in the name of all those albums has its own story. A personal story to me.
-
intv: How about those other albums.. album names are opposites.. Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights, Venus Doom, Dark Light.. are these names because the people can't to become aware.. what is the idea of the album names..really these albums are not however the theme albums..
-
The first gig where I got money was in the bar.. I was probably 13 or 14 years old, and I played bass. Quite a long time I've done it and it's really hard to sort out why. Maybe just because I think that the music is really nice, it is challenging. And you can meet really amazing people, it is an interesting job..
intv: In 1997 the first album Greatest Love Songs 666 was released.
vv: Yes, it is still our best album title.
intv: Is that true?
vv: It really is.

vv: My father drove a taxi, my mother worked for the City of Helsinki and still work there. I played music.. and I moved away from home and then HIM was formed. The first track, which put me to realize the importance of music was: Tuomari Nurmio - Valo yössä. My father was a taxi driver and he listened that song. He drove a taxi.. taksin katolla vilkkuu, yön ainoa valopilkku...
vv: Then we became sort of friends that way..like that once in a lifetime...can not even calculate with the highest math..That was a beautiful coincidence..and we have a lot of beautiful coincidences with the band and Bam. There is a lot of that kind of luck events that may affect the band's success..but it is absolutely impossible to say where would we be without Bam..but it is useless to speculate.
