Tradition is an argument used by Monarchists to justify keeping the monarchy, so here is a bit of that glorious tradition for you.

The story is about Charles Edward, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha but keep an eye out too for the Prince of Wales/King Edward VIII and his support for the Nazi's.

Also note Princess Alice trying to get the high ranking Nazi off the hook whilst the rest of the country were fighting and dying against them.

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!!!!! I am absolutely speechless! Whatever Nazi scum put this video up I hope will be educated by somebody via a crowbar!

  • @RepublicUK The UK is a democracy... Constitutional Monarchy under a Parliamentary Democracy, and has been since the late 1600's... The people fighting for world war 1, didn't make the public happy, the war was a catastrophe and ultimately lowered the morale of the army and changed the public's opinion of their government.

  • @YogaNate79 It was the British choice not to have Catholics on the throne - they were more English (or Scottish, if you must) than the Hanovers.

Anyways, Charles Edward makes me angry for becoming a nazi... but he almost makes me cry at the end of his life. We all do bad choices in our lifetime... his choice was not the best. He could have come out of the country as everyone else (that was against Hitler). But where would he go? England? Eh... he was bashed off by his British cousins. *sigh*

  • The argument made in the description of this show is really half assed. The argument seems to be "oh well there was a man in the royal family that was a Nazi, therefor you should do away with the royal family. " Not very fair or a sound argument.

  • Well, If you are all already enough of this German Royals, why not try the once Anglo-Norman Royals, the Plantagenets? The Brits got the Duke of Beaufort or the Earl of Loudon, Michael Abney-Hastings (Plantagenet). The Plantagenets got around 331 (1154-1485) years in the throne. The Tudors got around 118 years. The Stewarts, around 111 years. Well, the Hannovers (Windsors) are already 297 years in the throne (1714-Present). Well, this documentary will amount to nothing but a wishful thinking.

  • @bcpii You seem to have misunderstood me. I was defending the Duke of Windsor not blaming him. I very much agree with you.

  • @ImperialRussianGuard

Look at Edward VIII’s actions, not at is words.

I believe his stratagems to delay Hitler succeeded and saved England and the World from Nazi Domination. And, even after the War, he continued the artifice to help entrap escaped Nazis.

Such clandestine maneuvers, obviously required he play a Roll as Nazi Sympathizer, for which he was ruthlessly criticized.

I believe Edward was sustained in his will to duty, by honor and remembrance of Edward Augustus, Duke of Kent.

  • @YogaNate79 All of the British Monarchs from George III on were born in England, so that fact makes them British. The German Kaiser who was first cousin to George V was Kaiser Wilhelm II. The Royal Family have German ancestry because all monarchs are required by the Constitution to marry only Protestant spouses, and these were chosen from the Protestant Princely Houses of Germany or Denmark from the time of George I.
