http://www.MyOwnMedicalDoctor.com-Trigger Points-What are they? Dr Sugar, Your Internet Doctor, explains in part 1 of this 3 part series about Jump Site injections and Myofascial Spasms...
Once a month injections? I go to a massage therapist and have them massaged out.. That eliminates them once and for all. Pain is gone for good. It the pain comes back a few months or years, another massage. The ones I can reach with a massage tool of my fingers, I take care of myself. If I get a spasm will I out on a hike I can massage it away right then and there.
The massage is easy to learn. YT has many videos on how to do it.
Wow, a doctor on the internet that actually understands MPS and TrPs...and actually uses Travell and Simons materials...THE authority on both issues. Well done, Dr. Sugar. From a patient with severe MPS, but fortunately also has a great doctor.
Over time and in conjunction with antispasmodic drugs such as baclofen it can decrease the pain to a level thats bearable this usually involves a series a nerve blocks and trigger point injections. This sometimes takes years and sometime people have to come in for routine injections.
