STARLIGHT ( Arms Of An Angel ) - original collab' by Stuart Fretwell & Ed Hintze

The lyric was written, to order, after Ed had mentioned to me that he and his community choir were donating the proceeds of their concerts for the year to The Starlight Children's Foundation. http://www.starlight.org.uk. Also check out http://www.starlight.org.au

I heard this song, in my head, as something the Irish boy-band 'Boyzone' might sing - so I was mightily surprised when this came back from Ed. What a huge and emotional performance it is. He confided in me that when he was playing and singing it in his shop, a female customer was asked to give her opinion. As he turned to her, at the end, he saw that she had tears in her eyes! I'm sure that Ed won't mind me mentioning that we have both found ourselves in a similar state, when listening to this particular recording !

Unusually, Ed was able to sing the lyric EXACTLY as I had set it down on the page. That's a 'first', I can assure you =p lol When I was writing this lyric I was thinking how we can all be someone's 'angel' and brighten another's day with a word or deed. Certainly, many, many kind souls have been my 'angel' when I most needed them.

There were so many ideas in my head when I wrote this that I could have made a half-dozen quite different videos. In reality, the song doesn't need a video at all, so I settled on images which try to portray the idea of moving out of darkness and confusion, into order and light. I hope you get something out of both the song and the video :]

P.S. I can SO hear ex choirboy-superstar, now daytime t.v. presenter, Aled Jones, singing this one. It would suit his range, beautifully.
