News Update: Segway Inc. Owner James Heselden Falls Off Cliff, Dies on Product

"Owner of Segway Incorporated, James Heselden, has died after driving one of the company's vehicles off of a cliff. The 62-year-old millionaire was testing a cross-country version of the electric two-wheeled vehicle, when he crash-landed in a river on his Yorkshire estate. Paramedics pronounced Heselden dead at the site.

The company's scooters are marketed as a ""green commute"". Segway describes it's vehicles as ""safe, unique products that are redefining transportation"". Although the company does warn consumers to use safety precautions, such as wearing a helmet.

George Bush is another past example of safety issues with Segway products. In 2003, the President was photographed leaping off the machine when he lost control. However Dick Cheney was a successful user of the device."
