I disagree about avoiding them out, I do think it's good to use them because that's the only way for non native english talking people to learn new words and expressions in english man.

I guess it's because many non-native English speakers don't understand most phrasal verbs, and they think "piss down" and "shit down" were derogatory comments about the gig. Sorry, there's a lot of non-native English speakers out there, and understanding phrasals is hell for most. I didn't vote you thumbs down, but I can see why others would: they misunderstood your comment. In the name of all non-native English readers, please avoid phrasal verbs, they are hell to get right.

Why are people thumbs downing this comment? I said it was raining on this weekend in 98. And it was. It fucking shat it down at Glastonbury and Blur cheered me right up. How can you down thumb an accurate, if out of date, weather report? HOW???????
