@NG9D Yes, I plan to order one as soon as they get it back in stock, and I was planning on building it for 40m. Don't have much money tho, so it's just going to be a simple wire antenna, at least for a while :)
Thanks again!

Pretty impressive. Probably easier to add to a project than a narrow crystal filter in the IF, of course for a direct conversion receiver that isn't an option.

Hi Lynn!
I think TenTec should be paying you for showing off their products. :) I've never built a radio kit before, and I didn't know how or where I should start. Thanks to your videos and reviews I've settled on the 1056. I also like the case you put it in - nice work! Thanks a lot!

johnnydc7 You will like the T1056 direct conversion receiver kit. Let me know what band you choose. I think 40m would be a great choice, since it seems to be open longer with a variety of CW and SSB signals to receive. Even though this is your first kit, you should do fine. If you run into any snags, just contact Ten Tec. They are always ready to help.
I really enjoyed building every one of the kits I bought from Ten Tec... I'm now saving-up for the T1254 ;-)

Hi, Lynn - really nice video, very interesting. I also like your packaging of the TT1056; I'd like to do something similar with mine. Raises a question/request, if you don't mind - Do you have a drill template for your panel layout you could post somewhere? Many thanks; keep up the nice work; I saw your article in K9YA Telegraph a few months back. I think you're accumulating lots of fans of your videos as a result. 73, RayCF, KA8SYX

Hi Ray, I don't have dimensions recorded. It is important to make measurments of your acual parts (like the stand-off supports, switches, or even if you use a completely different enclosure. But I did attempt to describe the process in general and I posted a few pictures (including panel layout) on my website ng9d.blogspot.com
I hope that helps. I know you will have fun building and using a a T1056 receiver. 73, Lynn NG9D . .

Lynn,
You must live in a remote area cos there is not much background noise.Lovely.Over here in the UK the noise levels are quite high especially on 80 meters.

Hi Sandy - sorry about your noise level. Here QTH in suburbs. Noise varies, worst case was caused by faulty lightning arrestors/overhead power lines less than 1km away. That was RDF project for me, and power company confirmed source and fixed it. Now my worst QRM is from our plasma TV set. The plasma TV is a terrible RFI source across wide portion of HF band. I don't understand how the FCC ever allowed plasma TVs to be sold in this country. If I knew, I would have never bought it. 73 de NG9D
