Just when I thought this video couldn't get any better, you mentioned Pacman

@GreenCastleBlock 100% agree. At 1400 even I saw the weakness at f2.

@KBoogs719 Totally not true. Enrico Paoli became a GM at 88.

Wonderful presentation by a gifted commentator. I love the followup move analysis.
Hard to believe that the opponent was a 1900 level player. But Howard is a solid player.

Annoying title. Did he attack the king? Groundbreaking...

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I think Stern's gotten a lot of success on ICC playing an obscure defense that he's studied a great deal. I guess some GMs do that too, but with a larger set of attacks and defenses.

There's no way White is anywhere near 1900.

my rating is 1600
can you teach me how to win computer impossible.

I just played that variation you showed us in this video as training! Apparently it was from Biegler - Peperle, 1952. I immediately remembered this video.

i knew howard was a chess player but i didn't know he was this good, to play and win at the 1900 level is above average skill level, i'm 27 yrs old and i'm only playing at a meager 1400 level although i have had 1800+ level guys tell me when i'm hot i can play at the 1600 level but that's as high as i go at the moment, i've heard that after the age of 21 if you are not a GM already you can NEVER reach that level, is this true? How discouraging.

You should question lines including this "never" word. I know of at least 1 instance of a player being a grandmaster after 30. Many beyond 21+ do the same.
