So ou are able to come up with a problem but no solution? Your life must be in ruins. I have no problem with your opinion but if you offer no one else better than all you have done is created a complete ass of yourself. If you offered a solution, a better bunkai series, then I would investigate and may agree with you. Until then I will keep your insulting comment in the "complete ass!" list.

@jiggahippo: I have been in the arts for over 25 years and I can say, with complete confidence, that Grandmaster Annesi is not the best in any field I would associate with practical bunkai application. I would not recommend these videos to anyone.

This is what,s missing in a lot of Karate schools today, I have a background in Wing Chun and Tai-Chi(Chinese boxing) because most Karate schools are not like what I saw, unlike most people in Chinese boxing I respect all martial art systems, all are good if taught correctly and Grandmaster Annesi gives Shotokan Karate a good name, most impressive to the point that I want to learn Shotokan

I have been in the arts for over 37 years and I can say, with complete confidence, that Grandmaster Annesi is the best in his field and I have nothing but total respect and admiration for him and his skills. And I own this series and it rocks!

@jadewillow how you going to hit them in the groin if they start the punch at ur head?....its simply: block, stun, then counter....how you get there is up to u and the moment in witch you do it

@nico52015 I have seen alot of Dan Grades struggle on Kihon basics.
I always intruded on the advanced classes as a beginner and now I jump in on the Beginners class to keep up with the Kihon Basics, aswell as practicing at home.So non of my techniques are hampered they can only improve.

@fuckingcuntbollocks1 you're right man. the black belt at 2.10 have serious problems of understanding. he's training the application of heian shodan or pinan shodan in anycase the fisrt kata to learn in shorin's styles of karate (Shotokan, wado, shotokay etc.etc.) i learned this kata when i was whte belt.... the really question is : who is the sensei that gaves him black belt?
-
that guy he's teaching after about 2:10 is retarded. He has to keep explaining it over and over. Must be frustrating

@Koryuhoka Example of real bunkai. Downward block = groin strike. Opponent doubles over/forward - hammer fist strike to neck/head. Another...but same movement down block = a removal of a grab to your left hand. Hammer fist strike to the neck/face with right forearm/fist. .. Simple and effective..... Its not a clearing attempt then a back fist! If it was.... then the Kata would show the back of the hand striking and NOT the fist as in the Kata (Heian Shodan)
I greatly perfer the bunkai in Iain Abernethy's Bunkai-jutsu series. Iain is Wado-ryu, but his bukai apply to the shotokan kata (which are the same as the wado kata, mostly). But the Abernethy analysis is remarkably believable in connection with real world attacks like hook punches, roundhouses, head butts, grabs and punches, and so on. A real eye-opener for an old shotokan student.
