The majority of products we buy are things that we want, not that we need. Gadgets and tools sit on the shelves, clothing hangs on the racks, body products sit in the cabinets, and food gets thrown in the trashcans wasting money and natural resources. Petroleum-based products are in most of what we buy, including our food, containers, fabrics, and lotions. Oil is everywhere.

By buying less, reusing, and recycling, we can reduce waste and our negative impacts on our communities. When you do need or want a product, choose to be a conscious consumer.

Together, we can stop oil addiction.

This call to action is from the Human Impacts Institute, NYC Climate Coalition and NYC Oil Addicts Anonymous.
