The N-AD program prepares students to function within the roles of manager of client care, provider of client care, and member of the discipline of nursing. The practice of nursing includes adherence to established standards of the profession; recognizing the impact of economic, political, social, and demographic forces on health care; use of effective communication skills; use of information technology; use of the nursing process as the framework for evidence based practice; consistently demonstrating caring, respect, and cultural sensitivity in interactions with others; health teaching; colloboration; management of resources; and assisting clients and their support network to cope with aging and/or adapt to chronic health alterations.
