  • do you find this card loud? because some people complain that it's loud..

  • I think if you manually control the speed its loud, anything over 40% you can start to hear it. I keep mine to an auto setting and it runs really quiet. really cool aswell.

  • Thats a sexy card, is it as good as its cracked up to be?

    Honestly? £300 is a lot of money, is it worth it?

    Thinking of getting one my self.

  • @OpethDisciple Its a great card! i went from a 8800gts so i got i nice improvement and im looking forward to playing some directx 11 games.

  • Thanks! That was really interesting testing different CPU clocks. My Q6600 cant go beyond 3.0GHz.

  • Damn exactly what benchmarks of 5870 are saying, 36 fps average.

  • How's that card going for ya?

  • XFX is the BEST!!!

  • @deuketc processors shouldnt effect fps much unless that game was designed for it

  • It doesn't matter how much GHZ your CPU got. Other aspects matters more. I had before A Q8200 and i got way more FPS at most of my games with my new i7920.

  • @Lupic1995 False.

  • nice, I just ordered one yesterday. Interesting how you tested overclocking

  • @Lupic1995 Hi, I was unsure myself about this before I got the card,, here are a few benchmarks from some tests today.

    Crysis Warhead

    (average FPS)

    @2.4ghz = 24fps | @3.0ghz = 34fps | @3.2ghz = 36fps | @3.33 = 36fps.

    Dream - Directx11 Benchmark

    (average FPS)

    @2.4ghz = 35.3fps | @3.0ghz = 36.0fps | @3.2ghz = 36.2fps | @3.33 = 36.0fps.

    I didn't really see any bottlenecks after 3.2Ghz.. anything under this might cause a small bottleneck on a single 5870 with the q6600.
