Mariano Rivera (born November 29, 1969) is a Panamanian professional baseball player who has spent his entire Major League Baseball (MLB) career with the New York Yankees. Nicknamed "Mo",[1] the right-handed Rivera has served as a relief pitcher for most of his career. His presence in the late innings of games to record the final outs has played an instrumental role in the Yankees' success, particularly the team's late 1990s dynasty. He has won five World Series championships as a Yankee.

Rivera was signed by the Yankees organization in 1990, and he debuted in the Major Leagues in 1995 as a starting pitcher. He found success after converting to a relief pitcher in the bullpen. After a breakthrough season in 1996 as a setup man, he became the Yankees' closer in 1997 and has maintained that role for the team ever since. Rivera has become regarded as one of the best closers in baseball history,[2] and he has achieved his success by primarily throwing one pitch, a sharp-breaking, mid-90s mile per hour cut fastball that has been called an all-time great pitch.[3]

Rivera is a ten-time All-Star, a five-time American League (AL) Rolaids Relief Man Award winner, and a three-time saves leader. He has recorded the second-most saves in Major League history, and in 2009, he surpassed 500 career saves. Recognized as an exceptional postseason performer,[4] he holds Major League postseason records for saves and earned run average (ERA), among other records.[5] Baseball writers expect Rivera will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame upon retirement.[6]

  • because my Grandmaster uses the same verse for the logo and quote of the Martial Arts studio. If you or anyone else reading these messages could help me out in contacting Mr. Rivera, that would be such a blessing! Thank you so much again and may God bless you!!

  • remained faithful to the LORD Jesus. My Grandmaster is going to be doing a special performance with his Black belt students, a Kick-A-Thon for the students of his school, and a fundraiser to raise money for a church in their home country of Panama with no roofs or floors. When I read today in a biography of Mariano Rivera that the Bible verse Philippians 4:13 is written on his baseball glove, it convinced me that I needed to get in touch with him...

  • To the author of this video or channel, or Entrevista Otniel Batista, May God bless you and your families in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Is there any way we could get in contact? I am in dire search of being able to contact Mr. Rivera. My martial arts Grandmaster is from Mr. Rivera's home country of Panama. They both have similar life stories that included battling harships in their home country and the United States. But through it all, both Mr. Rivera and my Grandmaster...
