i agree... this girl should NOT be giving out advice when she can't even dance herself. anyone with half a brain can tell that she has no idea how to properly go up on pointe. you're not pulling up at all!

NEVER do it without shoes. NEVER EVER. it will ruin your toes and feet and the structure of your bones in your ankles. The shoes help because there is support. It hurts, but at least there is support. Are you allowed to be on pointe? If you are not, do not attempt to do so. If you are, you should know better.

what type of pointes are those?

you should never bounce during stretches. i know you're technically not bouncing but you're doing the same effect to your calf muscles. you're ng to seriously strain or even tear your calf muscles stopping halfway between contraction and retraction. you should always completely contract or retract your muscles.

well by the looks of your other videos... you obviously don't ever do this exercise or it doesn't work.

I don't even do pointe, bu ti have pointe shoes, and they are really easy to stand on, pretty much because its a box, so yeah.....
-
ooh that isnt good .
you can really hurt your back.
to get on pointe takes years of practice
-
oh...oops....

i've been a pointe dancer 4 a few years now and to me it comes pretty easily.
mainly, depends on the strength of ur foot and how much ur going to commit to working out ur shoes. u also hav to get the shoe that ur comfortable with and that takes u a few months to break in b/c if u hav a shoe that is too hard, it'll take forever to break in and if its too soft u'll kill it, if i make any sense
if ur thinking bout starting pointe go to one of the retailers like Capezio to get fitted

is doing pointe ballet hard? I mean, is it hard with shoes? ( i can easily do it without shoes...never tried it with shoes though..)

hey guys, do any of you have any tips on extending the life of your pointe shoes? ive only had my bloch supriams for 2 months and i think they are dying, check out my videos to see if they are and if they are could you please tell me! thanks
and you guys,
(sorry i haven't read all these comments earlier but...)
I very much appreciate your comments, and I'm very happy I could help you guys. But leaving very nasty comments is not so much appreciated. If this video helps many people, and maybe not you, that's perfectly fine! don't watch it, and don't try these exercises but people be civil. thank you for the support :]

How long have you been on pointe?? your shoes look don't look broken in at all. my shoes look like that when i put them on the store. you should really try to work on your hamstrings and quadriceps. it looked like you have a hard time fully straightening your legs.

I tried a different brand of shoes that were NOT right for my feet, but you gotta try different things to get the right shoe! in other shoes I have a ridiculously large arch and its hard to get strong enough shoes to support it, which is why I tried these. bad idea though. oh well!

I'm glad I could help! as for your question, the problem may be not only that your teacher broke them for you (which she shouldn't have) and you didn't develope in them yourself making you not used to the feeling, but also that you're not pulling up enough. don't put weight into the shoe :]
