Colonel Bogey March played by Stan Long & Kaden Long

Stan Long and his grandson Kaden play the famous Colonel Bogey March from 1914 by "Kenneth Alford" (pseudonym of Fredrick Ricketts), on four-hand piano and recorder.

When Kaden picks up the recorder and everyone is invited to whistle along, you can hear me whistling a piccolo-like countermelody.

Kaden is 8 years old. His first love is not music, however; it's BMX racing!

Of course, this march is most well known today for its use in the 1957 film "The Bridge on the River Kwai".

This was recorded Sunday, 10 August 2008 at the Sutter Creek Ice Cream Emporium in Sutter Creek, California, shortly after the conclusion of the 10th annual Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival.

I don't think either of them reads music. I know Stan doesn't, and I recall him saying that Kaden began picking out stuff by ear as well.

There is no girl in this video. Kaden comes from a family of musicians. His first love is BMX racing, but he does like playing at the piano. He often comes up to the piano himself or asks his grandpa here to play something with him.
