Out of all the solo careers that the beatles embarked on post-band-mortem, George was by far my favourite. How I miss him and his hairy face....
-
another good hari song.

All Things Must Pass has only grown in stature over the years.....George's contributions to the Beatles were immense....never doubt it.

A bunch of George's songs from this period were passed over by the Beatles (in reality by Lennon/McCartney) and ended up on his first solo album All Things Must Pass. In a way, I think these tunes did better on his solo effort than as Beatles' tunes. A very heavy song...the darkness is not nighttime or evil per se but rather Maya (loosely translated: illusion). Maya is the illusion that our individual selves are actually distinct from the infinity of the universe. Hare Krishna.

@kathleenb1947 Yes, the Leon Russell Bangladesh live version is great, him taking turns on the vocals. Great.
This was on Abbey Road? I didn't hear it!!! I listened to that album at least twice, but it was the version that I got here. Did that have anything to do with it? Oh. And as far as behaving badly, how well behaved were you at that age? I am one that not only would not throw stones but one who'd get rid of every stone in sight towards that effort! You're only young once.

@skylark914 Hey Skylark, Thanks for listening. This version is unreleased - (Didn't make it on Abby Road or any other Beatles album, although the Beatles rehersed it as early as Jauary 1969, prior to Abbey Road). The first time song appeard (but a different recording) was George's 1970 solo album "All Things Must Pass."
