Location:
This house is set approximately 3/4 km from medieval Panzano in Chianti and a further 8 km from Greve in Chianti. In Panzano, guests will find restaurants, bars and shops. Midway between Florence and Siena this is an ideal position for exploring both cities and the surrounding, captivating countryside splashed with ancient, hilltop hamlets and villages. From Greve there is a regular bus service to Florence which arrives in the middle of the historical centre.
Facilities:
This 7-bedroomed country property is set in an idyllic forested garden with a large, lawn area for soaking up the sun and abundant terracotta pots full of flowers. It is a romantic haven situated entirely on its own behind a wishing-well gate and totally fenced in. It offers guests a serene and peaceful atmosphere and outside the grounds there are some delightful walks through the prodigious, lush green landscape of vineyards and olive groves. Inside, the furnishings are in country cottage style, comfortable and inviting with a lived-in feeling. The covered, furnished terrace provides excellent opportunities for al fresco dining. There is parking available for those arriving by car.
Rooms:
The ground floor offers a spacious sitting room with an open fireplace, a kitchen/diner with a cooker, an oven, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine, as well as a shower room with a WC and 2 double rooms. The house is also equipped with a TV and an ironing set.
Sports/Entertainment:
This property features an outdoor swimming pool and guests can relax on the sun terrace with its sun loungers and parasols.
Misc.:
The swimming pool is open between May and September (weather permitting). A refundable security deposit is payable locally. How to get there:
Guests arriving by car from Pisa Airport should follow the blue signs for Firenze. Exit at Scandicci and follow the green motorway signs for Firenze/Roma. Collect a ticket from the toll booth and follow the A1 motorway towards Rome. From Florence Airport turn right, joining the dual carriageway heading for Firenze Nord. Join the A1 motorway in the direction of Rome, and then continue with the directions for all drivers. All drivers: from the A1 Autostrada (motorway), exit at Firenze/Certosa and follow the blue signs for Greve in Chianti, passing through Tavarnuzze and Ferrone before finally arriving in Greve in Chianti. Drive through Greve for around 3 km and there will be a sign for Montagliari. After this, drive up the hill to Panzano in Chianti. At the top of the hill is the village square, the road bears to the left but turn right through the square. After about 150-200 m, the road forks; turn left going down the hill in the direction of Mercatale. After 200 m there is a roundabout, take the first turning (right) signposted Mercatale. After around 500 m the road forks again, bear left still following signs for Mercatale. Follow this road for around 2.3 km arriving at a crossroads. The gate, directly in front on the left, is the entrance to the property.
