After installing control surface gap seals, my Lancair 360 has increased TAS by 5 to 7 knots. A distinct whistling now is very evident during low high speed fly bys!

  • VNE is 235 Indicated Airspeed. Best Ground Speed recorded, according to the Garmin GNS530, was 285 Knots. Typically however, I cruise between 190 knots to 210 knots TAS. Fuel burn between 9.0 and 12.0 GPH. If I got just a bit slower (usually on long trips), I can get her to 'sip' 8 GPH. -Rick

  • one word SEXYYYYYYYYYY

  • the "missile like" sold me.

  • @Braun09tv

definitely! Check out the pilatus pc 21!

  • Sounds mean! Just out of curiousity, what does it cost to built one?

  • Thats the power of american aviators. none of them are fatty cowards!

  • @ricargente, how much did you pay for the plane?

  • I agree, I was fortunate enough, to have owned a 360 in Aus and if there is a country made for flying it is Aus. I cruised my 360 everywhere at 215 IAS, she was fitted with 200hp dry sump version, wingtips and the rough feild kit. My standard trips were 700 nm legs, not so long as to bust your bladder, but only if you were flying a Lancair... Yeh!

  • What is her top speed? I thought that she was a fighter plane at the beginning of the video.

  • BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Man she is a runner !!

  • lancairs are the best!

  • @flyingrv6 I know how you feel, I had a T-6 that only went 170 knots cruise. You would would still out run me.

  • @ricargente 1.000 Hours??? Well, buddy, you are the living proof that, if flown competently, Lancairs can be safe, to say the least. Keep on having fun and flying well, my friend!!!

  • And I thought my RV was fast.

  • Love that sound. It sounds phenomenal.

  • No matter what you guys say, this IO-360 sound simply doesn´t fit the beauty of this plane. Have your guys seen or heard a Continental IO-550 Lancair Legay?

  • @mrjetdoc35 no you can increase speed and drag at the same time. In fact that is how it works. You notice in a car the wind resistance increases as you get faster? Its not always the case that noise indicates more drag however. I can whistle with my mouth and thats a lot of noise and not alot of airspeed.

  • yeah, drag usually increases speed about 5-7 knots....I love know it all's on youtube

  • I concur!! 360ZR now has over 1,000 hours and still looks as sexy as ever. Thanks!
