An ancient instrument, over one thousand of years old, is still being played by the only surviving Cambodian Master, Sok Duch. The Kse Diev is known as `'the instrument of the heart`', because when it is played it is held close to one's heart.
Cambodian Living Arts works to support the revival of traditional Khmer performing arts and to inspire contemporary artistic expression. CLA supports arts education, mentorship, networking opportunities, education, career development, and income generating projects for master performing artists who survived the Khmer Rouge as well as the next generation of student artists.

Kse Diev or Pin-pea in northern Thailad has only one string. Sok Duch, the only one Kse Diev player who survive from the Khmer Rouge 's year zero will surely die with happiness ' cause he has pretty good students who can conserve Khmer elegant musical heritage. I hope young northern Thai can do the same..............
