So what they are saying was that they want to hired ppl to take this jobs, then the jobless ppl starts applying for it then suddenly they decided "oh we can't hired you ppl cuz you don't have any experience in this field?" That's the most bs i've ever heard, don't corporation train their employees anymore? so what if they don't have those experience, take a few weeks to train, make it so that they do have them. either companies nowaday are stupid or just picky.

They're full of shit, hands down. I've been an Office Manager/Bookkeeper for over 15 years without a college degree, making upwards of $42k at my peak. Business fell off, us workers got LAID OFF (didn't QUIT), and suddenly--we're the diseased population. I agree with lirg123--we are the most competitive candidates! Just imagine if it happened to YOU, Mr/Ms. Ivy League. Suddenly, your Fortune 500 job is gone; with (say) 20-something years or more of experience, suddenly YOU'RE not employable

This is very true! I very much agree on this. Too bad ivory tower academics is such a different world than the coporate world. Both worlds need to corrorborate to meet individuals needs of smoothly entering the job market.

I love how all the people working in this video are drinking starbucks coffee. What a funny coincidence. I guess morning Joe et al. are not the only ones who love starbucks on their show; I guess its everyone. All workers everywhere. Everyone.

I say the problem is that they aren't really try to let the jobless people try to compete into the position.
Exemplifying the old catch 22. Companies need to either start reaching out and training people to fit the job or education needs to start being more practical.
We just have a major separation between what the workforce wants in employees and what students and the unemployed have learned.

Corporate recruiters should hang out in county, state and Federal government cafeterias. The folks there are doing the very same functions - except for sales - that are being done in the private sector, for half or less* the pay, and ~slightly~ better job security & bennies.
* At the very highest executive levels, government workers get what the private sector pays senior administrators.
