There is no disrespect towards anyone. There is sadness that people can't understand the word parody and what that means. That never meant that I didn't like the song. Quite the opposite. It only meant that I did a parody that seems to be winning when compared to those against it. I am a huge fan of Mr. Anderson's and a lover of country music. I am sad that anyone has a problem with it. And for that reason, I think I will pull it down. NOT!!

Someone is messing with this old classic tune by adding their garbage to it.

Remember that the street runs in both directions.

I suspect that there are folks out there that can & will take the shine of some of their noisy metal garbage by doing likewise..

Please re-do this song without distortion. It was one of my favorite as a little boy. Please Mr. Bill, get the song on the right way before you leave this world. The org. would be nice. Please,Please,Please This song has been ruin.Thats a FACT....

Great stuff Bill. It is a funny parody and just like other parody songs, the "twisted guitar playing" makes it interesting. Any chance you could do one for the fans in Tenn? Namely Rocky Top. I don't think there's a metal version of it out yet. That would really test your pickin' skills in a "blue" arena.

@ILOVEBILLSMETAL I hope I wasn't sittng on the fence cos I really like it ,maybe my writing was not getting across what I really meant which was to laugh at those who took it seriously "ruining a classic" .

I have been a pedal steel fan and amateur player for many years and what Pete Drake did on the original recording of this great track is superb , many people thought it was other players and sonny Garish did a lot of Bill Andersons sessions but no this was 100% definitely Pete Drake .

@xcaliber69 If I did, I'd spell it correctly Rock N' Roll guitarist, Jimi Hendrix was pretty VERY well known for his distortion version of the STAR SPANGLED BANNER at Woodstock in 69, and you're livid about a country song that I ALSO LOVE done as a parody. Let's weigh this out...The national anthem vs. Golden Guitar. Yep....you're right. I'd be really mad about someone butchering Golden Guitar as a PARODY more so than I would about someone doing the same kind of guitar on our NATIONAL ANTHEM.

If it were real it would be even funnier , Bills face just stays normal as if its normal.

To know that Bill Anderson himself likes it is also brilliant , just shows you what a great guy he is......he sees the humour in it, brilliant that he laughs too.
