Bronco Peak is a short trail that is situated within the Corral Canyon OHV area and is located just south of I-8 near to the town of Alpine or about half an hour east of El Cajon. According to the Southern California Back Roads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails book by Charles Wells, Bronco Peak is an difficult rated nasty hardcore trail very steep with tight brush large boulders and that several places are steep enough to cause a rollover if driver is not careful front and rear lockers are recommended. And, even thought its only 2.7 miles long, it is also recommended that you allow about 2 hours to complete it and more if you are going with a bigger group. Being that this trail was so short, our group of 3 Jeep JK Unlimited Rubicons, 2 JK Unlimited Saharas and 2 JK 2-Doors Xs decided to first run another short but difficult rated trail nearby trail called Sidewinder. Unfortunately, it would also be the only trail that a majority of our group would do.

  • And with the lift and tires already there I can use the extra I saved to begin my up as I still have my 98 set up to match. I would love a bit more advice.. Which is a better programmer for the 3.8 the supperchip or Bully Dog? And at Highway speed Im getting the wondering effect.. Any cure? It goes straight if I let go of the wheel but seem to want to drift left or right at random?? Also I hope you wont mind my Plate choice"WYALIF" (veteran). HAHA I thought you'd like that seeing as Im EastCoast

  • @sacmarine of the two, i only have experience with the superchips and i like it a lot. regarding wandering, i would check your caster and add a bit more if needed.

  • Looking at rubicons today.. For an 08 6spd manual with 33k on it for 24k and has a 4 inchh and 35s already installed. Good deal or hold out for the 2012 with the 3.6l at 40k asking price. Will the jeep get better milage (mpg) out of the manual? any issues with the manual trans in these bad boys?

  • @sacmarine tough call. me personally, i would hold out for a 2012 as they really are oh so much nicer. trust me, i still own two 07's and now a 2012 and it just can't be beat. also, while i have always wheeled manuals and still love it on our white 07, an auto is so much easier to wheel.

  • @wayalife Hey Wayalife have you tricked out you '12 yet and do you have any pics or videos yet. I keep seeing alot of after Market parts dont fit it yet. Just wondering where you are in the Build.

  • @Skail115 unfortunately, the build was put on hold until after the king of the hammers event

  • @wayalife Thanks for the constant info! The caster was over 11 degrees and from the specs I found should be more of a minus 5 degree.. Explains a ton. Updated to a dual steering stabilizer to help but need controls arms to fix the problem properly. The Rubi Kicks ass though! loving every minute of it. Over 1600 miles in less than a week and some serious New Englend snow wheelin so far. Way Of Life.

  • Thanks a bunch for your advice! I decided on a really weel kept and pre modified 2010 with less than 9k on the odometer. It sports a set of 35 nittos and a RC 4 inch with the 2.2 shocks. Decent for now! It also came equipt with an aftermarket snorkel that just clears the hood line and looks like a mushroom. Much like what you'd see on a military HMMWV. All in I scored her for 25k Ill take the slightly less power option while saving the 12k more I wouldve spent on teh 2012 Rubi I was looking at
