Off Roading in a 2007 Toyota Tacoma and a 1989 Dodge Dakota West of Rexburg, Idaho. Map and Specs at the end of the video. Tacoma is completely stock with the exception of new tires (LT265/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler Silent armor).

Filmed on July 10th, 2010, 6:30PM. It had rained earlier that day so the sand/dirt was still damp until dug up by the tires. Original audio was ruined by wind.

Revving the engine and spinning the tires was the only way we found that we could make it to the top in 2 Wheel Drive. I had turned off VSC (Vehicle Stabilization Control) and turned on Auto LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and threw it in 1st Gear. Truck has a stock rear locker but it was not needed. 4 Wheel Drive made it without even trying. Tried before on a hot day and only made it once in 2 Wheel Drive. 4 Wheel drive still didn't have a problem.

Stock 1989 Dodge Dakota had no problems on trails (never bottomed out). Tried the hill before on another day but didn't make it.

Filmed with a Sony Handycam
Edited using iMovie

Off of Highway 33/ 1500 N
Menan Butte Road (Dirt Trail)

  • @GEIBER77 i bet youre redneck that fits all the stereotypes

  • My 2011 TRD Off Road was built in Texas. Also, Toyota is required to use a certain % of American made parts in order to sell here. The American made parts I've seen are definitely inferior. Just FYI.

  • I used to be a chevy guy and would always put down Toyota until my 2010 silverado started to breakdown completely. I decided to get a toyota and i hope it is as dependable like everyone says.

  • @GEIBER77 haha toyotas are Japanese retard. and they will out preform and outlast any american truck

  • Funny people hate on toyota because they are a "japanese" car company but hell sign me up i want a vehicle that will go for 200,000+ miles and go off roading without a problem.

  • @sepomah haha i wash your mouth with soap before saying stupid shit about my 6.2L 412 ponies under the hood z71 with 3.43 gears lol you would only beat me in your dreams boy lmfao!!!! hahaha

  • @Trx450rallday my tundra will smoke your shitty z71

  • Toyota is a Japanese brand along with Nissan, Honda, Acura, etc. All Japanese vehicles are good. if you like a car you will have opinions.

  • @GEIBER77 you f**king simpletard, Toyota is Japanese, and most of their cars and trucks are built in the U.S. And i personally dont give 2 sh*ts where a truck is made or where it's company's from. If its rock solid like a tacoma, then its da sh*t. My dad scraped the whole underbody of his in a mud pit filled with rocks, and one Mo F**kin skid plate came off. Im sick and F**KING TIRED of ppl rattin on toyota they make chevys and rams look like pussys, fords are nice anyone who agrees respond...

  • Nice Taco!!! White Tacos FTW!
