  • @TheYorkshireJack I agree he's slightly outdated but that doesn't mean he should be disregarded, he has some great interpretations. listening to different performers you can decide on things you like and don't like and integrate them into your own performances. yeah i'm from sunny huddersfield. Who's your organ teacher?

  • @TheMrGreenhalgh Preston is not the right person to listen to for Bach, his playing is so dated and old fashioned. He accents each note far too much, it may be true that they didn't have legato back then, but they certainly had non-staccato! Quinney is where Bach playing is now, trust me. Your in Huddersfield? I live near Leeds :P

  • @TheYorkshireJack Glad you enjoyed it! I heard Gordon Stewart play the trio sonata at hudds town hall last year and in the repeats he added a lot of decoration in the repeats (even more than Quinney) but i personally prefer the non-decorated recordings like Simon Preston and Jonathan Scott, each to their own i guess. I'm 19 and have been learning the organ for about 2ish years now. Good luck learning the piece!

  • Really lovely, would be nice to embellish it a bit when going back after the repeats. Listen to the Quinney recording :) How old are you? I'm 15 and am learning the same piece!
