But lets be honest. Some characters are way more effective than others. Did wong stick to ChunLi? No... Did Daigo stick to Ken? Did momochi stick to akuma on SSF4 ? No...Did Mago stick to Sagat on SSF4?
Bottom line... When there are money involved of course people will go for what is most effective for them. Is not only skill.period
