I'm from Scotland too, this Dashing white tune is still stuck in my head from my school days, we always did these dances for P.E. (Physical Education), several Ceilidh tunes like it and ones that had Scottish reels with accordions ect,
But this tune is still the main highlight and most memorable compaired to the others,
And we had to dance like this too, although it was alot faster and a bit more rough
I'm American, and attended a ceilidh in Edinburgh when I was there for a week on a univ. seminar. It was the highlight of my trip-- so much fun! I had no idea what I was doing, but I certainly haven't forgotten the dances since. This was my fave dance. I was in the middle and got to swing around a lot :)
Such a fun dance to do :) I'm scottish so I've known this dance since I was like 6, I'm 17 now and a few years ago I achieved the feat of helping to hold the world record for most people doing this dance, it's in the guinness world records book :) I'm going to start listening to more ceilidh.
Im doing this for pe for our kayleih or however you spell it and its quite good but the tune aways gets stuck in my head !! haha

Well done to the chap who kept his dinner jacket on, it looks so much better than dancing in shirt sleeves.
