First off, the comment about "playing" karate clarifies that the writer doesn't speak English. It's just confusion in translation; I don't think author meant to be flippant.
Second, there's no need to be insulting just because someone hasn't seen a kata like this before. I've met people who are neither ignorant nor stupid who nevertheless have been relatively isolated in their training because they don't compete often and train only in one style.
I see a lot of questions on the bunkai and nature of this kata. First off, it is from the naha-te lineage, like goju-ryu (shito-ryu has two lineages, naha-te and shuri-te, shuri-te is like shotokan). The strange wrist motions are blocks and mirror the four basic blocks of the shuri-te lineage (up, down, inside and outside), but are more like strikes with your palm-heel or your wrist.
Not all karate schools are the same, there are different styles and different katas....maybe thats why you didnt "see" this kata in your school. and your question was ignorant and stupid, i hope i answered your question btw.

Brasshand...
I think he means that he "plays" karate in the same way a judoka "plays" Judo. ie..he practices the sport and learns from that practice.

i thought we had to relax all the muscles in tensho . sunchen is the one we need to flex our muscles for...right?

Supposed to keep every muscle extremely tense in this kata and move muuuuch slower. One of may favorite katas...even if it is extremely tiring.
