Anyways, who cares anymore...I have come to understand, that unless a person is willing to free himself from the institutionalized thinking, then he will never see the other view point. This is the same for both sides. My sister is die hard Christian. I mean, the bible is perfect to her. I on the other hand asked too many questions and brought out too many contradictions in the bible, there for, I was not liked too much and ultimately had to leave.

I don't think anybody can absolutly prove anything beyond a shadow of douth. One thing that is for sure, is that mankind is capable of great love and great evil. In the face of great evil, mankind has shown a tendacy to hope that there is a better place, a better tomorrow. That the evil dooers will be punished by an almighty good being, who knows of the victim's pain and suffering. The all knowing being will bring justice upon the evil dooer. This is but of course just one small example.

Atheists aren't miserable. We take all the joy out of life because we know that there is no afterlife, so we dont waste our precious time in religion. We don't live in fear that if I will make a sin, I will burn in hell for eternity. I would like to hear on of the "wonders" faith has done to u. If u say that its ur child then don't waste ur time. U fucked with her/him -> some stuff happened with sperm and egg cell = ur child. Not a miracle. For everything there is an explanation.

'it seems like most atheists are miserable'
what seems and what is true are completely different things. first of all, have some critical thought, and realize, just because you've heard a few cranky atheists, they don't represent the whole. You don't see Norway, Sweden, Holland etc. (very atheistic cultures) 'raining on people's parades'. i see religious fundies raining on people's parades all the time with their wars. Atheists don't care much about faith, only when it is forced upon them.

religion is personal... faith has done wonders for me and countless billions. It seems like most atheists are miserable and take joy only in raining on peoples' parades.

Frogs take up space. Therefore the creature you posit to exist cannot be a frog.

Very elequently put (that's sarcasm). I think what john was getting at is, religion is by it's nature based on blind faith. It's held up as an actual virtue to "just believe" things. And that kind of thinking does (to use one of your words) retard critical thinking. Science on the other hand, is built on examining evidence and testing theories. You seem to fall in the first camp... which apparently is why you can't respond with much besides name-calling.

I believe the universe is ruled by a big frog, outside time and space. Prove me wrong.
what an objective claim. The hostility that you will find in most atheists is a response to the absolute ignorrance of those who preach nonsense. The foundational beliefs of our constitution: freedom, liberty, justice - (meaning reason) - are contrary to yours. Practice your beliefs, but expect them to never alter our constitution - and have no hard feelings. If this upsets you, then relocate to your holyland.

For the umpteen thousandth time: The believer, not the non-believer, bears the burden of proof! It's impossible to prove that leprechauns DON'T exist. So am I delusional if I assert categorically that there are no leprechauns?
