January 16th 2010 The Black Rock Coalition Orchestra looks at the civil rights songbook of Curtis Mayfield. In remembrance of the 10th anniversary of the transition of this quiet musical giant, The BRC Orchestra launched the BRC's 25th Anniversary year by performing selections from Curtis' poignant and politically astute repertoire in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The performers include Sophia Ramos, Dean Bowman, Maya Azucena, Gordon Chambers, V. Jeffrey Smith of The Family Stand, Kelsey Warren (Pillow Theory), Jeremiah, Doron Flake of The Smyrk, Wayne Cobham, Leah King, Shawn Banks, Dave Dawson, Andre Lassalle, Darrell McNeill, Gene Williams, Leon Grubman.
