Grey Squirrels have no major impact on woodland nirds in the UK. So maybe now, others will be like the Reserve and leave them to be. They are only trying to survive. The greatest reason for decline in Birds and other wildlife, is mankind. Thats the sad and sorry truth.

Thanks to The BirdGarden for sending a link to the BBC website with full details of the Study carried out on Grey Squirrels. You can read it at http://news.bbc.co.uk/earth/hi/earth_news/newsid_8448000/8448807.stm

Please also thebirdgarden channel at http://www.youtube.com/thebirdgarden

Like myself, he is totally against abuse to animals in any shape or form.

Thanks for watching

  • What an adorable little fellow! Love his coloring! I have a little grey one I feed everyday on my back porch and several black ones..all hand fed. In the spring the females full their fur out to make nests with for the young..it grows back but for awhile they run around with bald patches on them. LOL

    Hugs~nancy

  • @MrNativeDancer Thanks for the update!

  • Squirrels ONLY eat eggs when they are absolutely starving!! They have just as much right to be part of our wildlife as any other wild creature. They have naturalised and have there own eco systems with in woods and forests, they bury thousands of tree seeds at the right depth, and the ones they forget about grow into trees, forming new natural woodlands, Hazel,Oak,Spruce,Maple,Horse Chestnut plus many wild flower seeds. Best conservationists ever! Great for Wildlife!! oh and people to enjoy!

  • @visualvirtue Its total lies lol Grey Squirrels did not cause the decline in Red Squirrels. There are videos of Reds and Greys piecfully feeding off the same bird tables together. There is even a video on youtube of a red squirrel chasing off a grey squirrel lol Red Squirrels in the UK are so inbred they have hardly no imunity to disease and when idiots released a diesease Parvo Virus to wipe out Grey Squirrels it killed yet more Red Squirrels and they blame the greys for it!

  • I thought you guys had a problem with these squirrels because they are competition for the red squirrel. This is the first time I'm hearing they are a problem for the birds?

  • i shoot to kill these tiny little creautes.

  • Squirrels always make me smile... They are soooooooooooo cute ! Hahaha...

Those paws look like very tiny little hands... Hehehe...

A pleasure to watch this !

    :o)

  • I hope that they will survive...

    They are amazing animals :)

  • I always thought they were cute...

  • All squirrels are beautiful, have their own personalities and are charming, daring and wonderful to watch and feed. My kitchen windowsill (where I have my feeder) is open for all visitors - be they wearing feather or fur. I've also managed to save all the trees in the garden as they were under threat.

  • Oh my what a cute little guy or girl, Squirrels concealing scamper and weave, part of a autumn poem I wrote. Love this, We never get a chance to get a good look at a squirrel in the woods. They are so fast and stay up the trees. Thank you Phil x
