Could you explain to me what is Green House effect?

@quinni123 oiling the length of your hair, adding a plastic cap a bonnet and or scarf and letting the oil stay in your hair, by applying the cap it will trap heat to bring out your natural oils from your scalp called sebum the sebum has the nutrients we need for healthier longer hair sometimes the sebum have a hard time traveling to the ends of afro textured hair so that's what the greenhouse effect does and it keeps your hair moisturized like deep conditioning overnight just with oil

@befitinthirtydays I think the point of the GHE (although I've never done it), or for hair growth in general is to leave your scalp alone. The point is to ALLOW your scalp to produce its own natural sebum. Adding oils on top of oils is doing nothing but clogging your pores. Moisturizing your 'hair' is fine to retain length, but  you might want to start over with a fresh clean scalp b/c it seems as if you've been doing the GHE wrong since day one.
