Many experts and policymakers are asking if the business model of higher education is broken and if we need a new way of thinking about how colleges can fulfill their role in society without breaking the bank. Center for American Progress presented a debate on this topic and a paper written by Harvard Business Professor Clayton Christensen. The study offers an explanation of the changes in higher education through the lens of disruptive innovation, showing how new technologies like online education are forcing colleges and policymakers to rethink the way they deliver education.
