I got a little bored today, so I decided to start creating some vids for YouTube. This is my first one, a cover of "Mother May I" by Coheed and Cambria. Please excuse the terrible drumset audio...I need to go pick up a decent microphone to interface with the Mac...oddly enough, the Mac can't handle drums! This was also an experiment with iMovie, as I hadn't made a movie with it yet...so if you'd rather see this without the song playing in the background, let me know. I screwed up a couple times on the song, so yeah...I know it. Please take it for what it is...me just having fun. Enjoy people!

  • what cymbals do you use?

  • @HarrTheKiller Mostly Sabian. The HH's are 15" Vault Tour...the crashes are a 20" AAXplosion and a 19" Evolution. The splash is a 10" HH Duo. The china is a 16" Wuhan...and the ride is a 22" K Zildjian.

  • good rythem man

  • thanks!

  • how much time does it take you to learn a song like this so spot on? i think i should try. good job.

  • It usually takes a couple hours of playing it...and sometimes I write down the fills if they are somewhat random, like the crash hits in this song...splash to china to crash to china to splash...no real pattern. Thanks, and yes...you should do it...it's fun!

  • Nailed It!

  • He ind of takes on the resemblance of Chris Penny when you cant see his hair :D

  • so give them the story they want you too

  • Great playing and navigating through the changes. It's a pretty good sound regardless. As well as decent mics you may want to check out an audio interface for the Mac, particularly a firewire one (Apogee Duet)

  • no problem, i just got a set so i've been trieing to cover the Coheed songs, their comming out with a new album soon
