This is one of the best lessons ive seen on youtube when it comes to blues soloing, I like the idea that you describe it like a palette of colors, great job!

I keep coming back to this video, I find it very inspirational! will try some of the ideas when I get home (currently travelling). What are you doing when you play the harmonic? is it an artificial harmonic?

Just seen this for the first time. Beautifuly played & well explained. I started playing 12 months ago at the age of 40, been a lifelong fan of guitar music whatever genre. Must say the most baffeling part of learning to play is moving around the fret board & remaining in the correct key. Just keep practising I guess ! Look forward to your next tutorial.

That's funny ... when I write songs I read a random page from a random book out loud. Once I hit a phrasing that I like I try to derive notes from it. This is the first lesson that actually states a similar idea. Thanks for posting it, like your work. antill

that's the way to go...Wes Montgomery said 'no man can create in a vacuum'...we need a point from which we originate our work, either manifest or in our imagination.
Anything more you'd like me to post video-wise to help let me know

OK make a start by singing a few notes that you want to play, then find those notes on the guitar; they will form a certain fingering pattern, now practice playing that pattern up and down the fretboard , shifting the whole pattern one note at a time, then build on that principle by finding other notes and phrases, you will soon have a whole basket of moves you can hear in your head because they originated there first...
