I had the chance to see Vestal in concert with the Gaithers just 7 months before she passed on. She was added to the concert at the last minute when Jake Hess couldn't make it and no one except people who saw the announcement on Gaither net knew she was coming. When Bill said he had someone special coming out, Vestal walked in singing and everyone came out of their seats and clapped when she entered. A great voice gone from us but will live on in her CD's and songs.

I seen Vestal and Howard with the Gaithers back probably in the late 90's. I have always loved old southern gospel music. Grew up on it and there is nothing like it. Sorta like the old bluegrass gospel. Vestal has a identifiable voice, nothing like her, and she has been a true vessel of God. Just like Dottie Rambo I probably am the biggest Dottie Rambo fan ever!!!!
