Dave NK0E and I with my goats Rooster and Peanut carrying our water and gear spent Friday night on Mt Herman at our favorite hangout! Saturday AM after watching a great sunrise we got up the antennas, set our radios (FT817 and Elecraft K1) and started to prowl the bands. Video tells the story better than I.

  • Rooster's(blue) are bought. Peanut's (red) are old bicycle panniers that I adapted for his saddle. Be advised you must use a goat saddle when packing a goat! You will damage their spines if you just throw a dog pack on a goat. Goat saddles are designed to keep the weight OFF the goat's spine and ON their back.

  • Yep, Rooster is dominate over Peanut. However Peanut is constantly testing Rooster to see if he can knock him out of first place and they wind up butting heads for a few minutes and Rooster usually wins! Fun to watch!
