@MrDadcard Hmmm. I did make this video a little while before iOS 5. But I think it will still work. I think you're on the right track. What's I'd try is connecting the new iPhone to iTunes, but I'd disable all the syncing (untick Sync Music, Sync Calendar, Sync Apps etc). Update new phone to iOS 5 (which is currently iOS 5.0.1) then once update is finished, retick all the syncing and restore from backup. Let me know how you go!

@SpannersTV I have a problem I lost my other Iphone4 got a new one and tried to do a back up from the old phone :( It had the IOS5 on it so it would not let my new one that did not have IOS5 on it back up I then proceeded to connect as new phone to download IOS5 but how would I get that back up from the old phone once the new one completes its update?
Question:
Will this transfer the text messages I have received and sent recently?
The recent notes I wrote down?
Recent calls received, missed, and made?
Or will all those be deleted during the process?
Can you tell me which is saved and which will get lost? Thanks

@theK9freak Good question. I didn't check when I did it. I'll take a wild guess and say yes, because you're restoring from a backup. But I guess the only way we'll find out is if you try it out. One thing is for certain is that those received/missed calls and SMS will be on your old phone still, so if you need to grab any phone numbers from missed calls, you can just switch on the old phone and create new contacts in the new phone. Let me know how you go and if all your stuff comes across.

@shotboy200 I did have a look around to see how this was done and it looks a little complicated. Some even suggest jailbreaking your phone and I'm still yet to see a reason good enough to void your iPhone's warranty. The best I saw was using a program called iPhone Explorer for PC and Mac.
I haven't tried it, so be careful. Hope this helps. Reply back here with how you went, please.
