Hedgehog vPatch™ protects the database between vendor-issued patch updates with 2 components:

1. Host-based software
Using sensors to safeguard the DBMS against attacks and misuse, Hedgehog vPatch does not affect applications running on the database. Instead, we closely monitor in real time any attempt to exploit vulnerabilities on the database, thus creating a way for you to patch virtually. This includes blocking and alerting.
2. Automated updates courtesy of Sentrigo's Red Team
Recently credited by Oracle with finding Oracles most recent severe vulnerabilities (October, 2008) via buffer overflow and SQL injection, our team of security researchers are the leading authorities in detecting and resolving DBMS vulnerabilities.
