Love these U.K. bouts! The rules are interesting. Do the matches in the U.K. still structured this way, or has the WWE's international influence changed things?

Yeah as far as I know the old British rules are all but gone. Probably still used when the wrestlers from that era do indy shows but I doubt there are many young wrestlers coming up that actually train, let alone wrestle, under those rules.

Talented wrestlers. Shame about The Dynamite Kid. Mark Rocco really changed the style of British wrestling. Rocco a great tough aggressive wrestler who really worked hard.

@tellumyort I believe Premier Promotions still use the old-style rules but that's about it, although Doug Williams' reign as FWA British Heavyweight Champion included a number of 2/3 falls matches (which were promoted as being 'traditional British rules').

Great stuff,my Dad used to take me to see the wrestling all over S.E. London when I was a kid,bag of Percy Dalton's finest and you were set for the evening.

I was at this bout in Catford (SE London), the last of the evening, with my future wife and in-laws seated about four rows back from ringside. (We can just about be seen on the 'big screen' version, although not very distinct here). Also on the card was Brett Hart v Marty Jones, another superb match which seemed to have been overlooked by TWC when they were regularly televising WoS. I still have the programme in my collection!

Tis stuff is great. Of course I was familiar with Dynamite's work in North America (also his stellar Japan career) but this is my first glimpse at Mark Rocco aside from one match I saw years ago where he was Black Tiger up against Tiger Mask. He's awesome! I watched three or four of his bouts last night. Thanks for posting .
