Tip: If you click the ad, that might take money from them that they're using to pay for clicks on their advertisements, so basically you'll be taking away their indoctrination money.

To phrase it a different way- why does something need to follow the rules things inside it do? Reality is one thing, objects inside reality are another. If anything is capable of existing outside the laws of reality, surely it would be reality itself?

you've misunderstood something fairly basic- the universe does not need a cause. Or rather, we know what the 'cause' is, it's the set of rules that govern reality. Why reality exists is a question for philsophers and others with far too much time on their hands. Reality exists, and so reality exists. If A is true then A is true, therefore A is true. It's possible there's a larger framework we're unaware of, but that doesn't change that a cause is not required. It IS.

Sorry, but your argument went as follows:

    1.) Everything requires a cause.

2.) The universe is a part of everything, and thus requires a cause.

3.) God made the universe, because god doesn't need a cause.

4.) God doesn't need a cause because I arbitrarily define him as not needing a cause.

You presented no reasoning for any portion of this. You just insisted things were so, and that I was to accept them just because.

You're not smart enough to remain in this conversation. We're done now.

It's amazing how much of yourself you just described.

I described a problem regarding the formation of universe in light of cause and effect, then presented a solution to it.

Instead of rebutting that solution or offering an alternative, you basically just said "NO THAT DOESN'T SUIT ME" and spouted a line about logic without actually using any.

This argument merely reminds me of arguing with fundamentalist religion die hards--you show the same level of logic and reason.

No, it isn't a rational argument. It's special pleading. You haven't contradicted that in your post, either. All you did was *insist* that it's logical.

Your post was empty, content-free. You might as well have stuck your fingers in your ears and shouted "NUH-UH!"

Actually, no. It's the rational argument for when there is no other explanation that fits.

Sometimes, for a law to exist in a state where it would preclude the law, you find an exception to said law.

We're fast approaching the point where anything that doesn't suit your preconceived notions is "not logical" despite it being a rational explanation that solves the problem. I'd advise you to read up on what logic entails before misusing the word.

No, that's the special pleading. It's arguing that, utterly arbitrarily, the rules do not need to apply to god, but that they need to apply to the universe. There is no good reason in either case why the rules should or should not apply to one or the other. No evidence is presented, no logical reasoning is presented. It's just because the person making the argument *says so*.

    This is a terrible argument.

No, you're missing the critical step--God being an existence outside of physical law.

THAT solves the conundrum and also makes God an answer rather than an extension of the cause problem. Your logic was flawed by including the "causeless cause" into the realm of ordinary physics.

If everything needs a cause, then god needs a cause. If god doesn't need a cause, then not everything needs a cause, and god isn't necessary. You can't say everything needs a cause, and then say god doesn't need a cause. That's special pleading. God isn't a solution to this problem. He's just an extra step.

You misunderstand. The universe requires a single cause to exist. However, that cause would require a cause, and then that cause would require a cause, and we have the problem of infinite regression.

You would require a supernatural cause to begin with, something outside of temporal physics, thus not requiring a cause of its own.
