UPDATE: We're sorry if we weren't clear before! For the mash-up category you do NOT have to make your own mashed songs! You can if you want to, but pre-made mash-ups by Freelance Hellraiser, Norwegian Recycling, UnforgettableSound, Aggro1 (www.aggro1.com), DJ Surge-N (YouTube User tiktoxic), or any other person who makes mash-ups is fine!

The video tells you which fandoms are allowed - please watch the video carefully and read all the rules, we know a lot of the rules go by too fast, you may need to pause the video to read some of the rules, sorry about that.

The other 5 fandoms though require that the videos be brand new - made after August 3, 2009. Sorry but that's our rule.
For the mash-up category: For those of you who do not know what a mash-up is, it is a combination of two songs usually taking the instrumentals from one and combining it with the vocals of another song, or other times combining two or more songs in other ways. We would be more than happy to help you find people who have made mash-ups. If you enter a cast video set to a mash-up song, you may opt to have it qualify to be judged twice, once each for BOTH the cast and the mash-up categories. Please, in the description, indicate which category you would like it to be judged in. You can also opt for it to just be judged as a mash-up or just as a cast so that you can enter both category with the same fandom but that is up to you.

So in the video it says 1 video per show per vidder, but what we meant to say is: 1 video per show per vidder for each category - for instance you MAY enter a Smallville cast video and a Smallville mash-up video if you want.

We will only have 1 best of the best winner for the entire contest, out of all the mash-up videos and all the cast videos, and that video will be the only video getting a video request as a prize. Luvtheheaven and I are hoping to make that request prize video together as a collab so that will limit the fandoms you could request that prize to be from... but regardless of who wins, we'll make something work for us and you'll still get a video request prize.

There will be other first, second, and third place winners though too. Depending on how many entries we get for each fandom and how many entries we get in each of the two categories (cast and mash-up), we might split categories up into subcategories (like Smallville cast videos would be a subcategory). And then those subcategories would each get a first, second, and first place winner. We haven't decided exactly what the prizes will be for those first, second, and third place winners... but we hope you guys enter regardless of what prizes you might win.

Please don't forget when making your video that you can't cut the songs, and you must use every season of the show for cast videos and for mash-ups about characters, couples, or friendships, you must use every season that the character, couple, or friendship has appeared in. For cast videos, you MUST do what is rarely done in normal cast videos and include EVERY star of a show, every character played by an actor who ever was billed as part of the main cast of the show, even if it was only for one season. Please send either of us a message if you want a list of every character that you have to be sure to include. Also remember for cast videos, while judging, we like it if you try your best not to show preference for any characters or couples - characters and couples should be varied as much as possible. We also will judge both categories based on all sorts of aspects of editing and lyrical matching, and we're not looking for who can use the most effects. You can still win even if you use zero effects and edit your videos in Windows Movie Maker. Effects only help your video (give it a better chance of winning) if used well. If you use too many effects or use effects poorly, it will hurt your chances of winning. Lastly, either in your video or in your video's description, please credit the song title and singer/band/artist. If you used a mash-up song, please credit all original songs used in the mash-up and, if known, please credit the person who did the mashing of the songs.
