  • no buildings are allowed to be more than 13 stories for safety purposes, Suva is located in a seismic hot spot.

  • Eh @ Betenivanua m not talking about the pre colonial buildings, Im talking about the buildings from Vanua Arcade all the way to Suvavou House lol.

  • @22871987 Not really. Most the buildings in the Suva CBD were built in the colonial days pre-1970 and are under heritage trust. Also there most engineers are local. There are many local architectural firms and construction companies. I know being born here.

  • Abou architecture...wrong!

All buildings or most of them were designed by Chinese engineers. There is a restriction of no more then 12 levels, except of the reserve bank of fiji was build in early days. Like any other country, building a house or whatever in anyland has to be considered by the city/town & the province involved, the specific tribe and how they can benefit from it.
