This work consists of hundreds of camera obscuras projecting real-time, inverted images of the environment outside of Fountain Street Church. The color of the sky, trees, and buildings along with the movement of vehicles and pedestrians give an ever-changing experience for the viewer. The lines that run through the piece are taken directly from the contours of Alexander Calders La Grande Vitesse that has been iconic to the City of Grand Rapids since I was a child. Where Calders work referenced movement and motion in its form, windowork: grand rapids is movement and motion. It is in constant change, just like the rapids in the river and the city itself.
