Youtube Boycott Coming Up: Do You Like or Dislike The New Look?

Well it's official - all channels will be downgraded to that ugly grey prison wall on Thursday March 1st or 7th, 2012. Want to get even? Yes, you read that correctly. One ad in the beginning of your video and then your video stops in the middle of playing with another 30 second advertisement. Can you believe these people? Yea so I deleted my account there.

Boycotts springing up all over the place but don't think it will help bring back our individual channel designs. Boycotts are not good for me on Saturdays and Sundays either because they're my only two days off. During the week is better. I guess I'll have to choose my own boycott days.

MESSAGE TO YOUTUBE: YOU WANT TO REDESIGN CHANNELS? How about exposing the channel names of those who thumb down videos for no reason other than being assholes huh? That would be useful function. Because everything else you redesigned is 100% dysfunctional!

MY FEEDBACK: While Google youtube keeps asking users for feedback, that's all it is - Feedback! It doesn't mean they'll change anything.

It's quite clear that neither Google, nor YouTube, and most especially the "product team" in charge of the Beta Gulag design, care the slightest bit about their users, or the damage they're doing. They've stooped so low as to ask us to "try" their new design and then force us into prison wall design anyway that is so terrible no-one can bear trying it for more than two minutes. That shows me quite clearly the direction they're heading. Will they take the time to read what's being said in this forum or Feedback? Not a chance! That would mean that they cared, and they've established that they don't. Seems to me this is youtube's way of saying Merry Christmas and Happy New Year suckers to their users.

Making "friends" a part of subscriptions doesn't work or matter to me. The majority of invites are only looking to rack up more "thank you for the invite" comments. They have no intention of communicating in the short or long term. Further, they don't watch the invitees videos yet expect their videos to be watched and repeatedly send them. Subscribers have priority and so do users who watch my videos.

1. I want my channel design left as is. 2. I want to know the channel names of those who thumb down videos. 3. If youtube wants to restrict freedom? (a) Limit how many channels users subscribe back to per day. (b) Limit channel comments posted per day. (c) Limit video comments posted per day. (d) Eliminate copycat comments with the graphics and doodads.

@AlienLeaderFan That's great, I'm AquarielCharm over there no 's'. Tips on uploading on ZC. Don't change title of song or add video description until after vid is uploaded. mp4 format works best. There are glitches because ZC is getting thousands of new users every day, I don't think they were set up for the migration. Otherwise it's a great alternative to youtube. Gozie . com is 2nd my best easy uploading, no ads, no copyright. Forget about ad vampires at Daily Motion.

3. How's signing out of Youtube and setting all your videos to "private" going to help anything?

This is obviously a fake and it's another fear mongering video on the internet. They're pretty common.

You cannot have colored boarders

You cannot have a background

You cannot hide your age

You cannot have a video featured

The thumbnails are too big

The HTML5 player can slow down the PC (my PC anyways)

Google does NOT listen to us. They THINK a lot of ppl switched to the new one BECAUSE THEY FORCED IT earlier and since some ppl switched to the old they're gonna say "Hey eveyone, we figured you like the new one, so we're making it avalible for everone now =) Please give feedback!"

any word on the effect, if any, of the Feb 18/19 boycott?...don't really need a boycott. Now that i cannot easily find which comment someone replied to, why waste time reading the comments?..i guess utube wants us to spend less time socializing, just watch vids so they get pay-clicks. guess what GOOGLE..You are about to regret buying utube:)))))i used to spend 6 hours per night here. Now?..about 15 minutes. who needs it anymore? Google ruins everything they touch and forces u to sign up?..bye :D
