The system works - I loaded up a simple program:

0020 7001 IAC
0021 2034 ISZ 0024
0022 5021 JMP -1
0023 5030 JMP -3
0024 0000

That allowed the data lights to sequence from 0000 to 7777 correctly!

  • Computers looked a lot cooler back then, with all those blinking lights and over-sized switches;like something out of a science fiction movie.

  • Funny looking microwave you got there

  • Does it run a Lisp?

  • @revnstpaul Actually, look closely -- it is just counting. As it repeatedly adds one to the accumulator, you are seeing the resulting numbers, in binary.

  • I bet the program took ages to input.

Very nice mate, good to see some of the old machines in action.

  • Another counter..... What about more interesting stuff?

  • Great to see a PDP-8 again ! That's also nostalgia for me because I did service this systems 1977 as DEC employe . SUPER !
