Clinton, (Hunterdon County) New Jersey - 13-June-2008, 6:45pm
This charming small town in northwestern New Jersey held its 13th annual Flag Day parade this Friday evening. It can be characterized as "small town" America at its very best. Youngsters and their parents decorated bikes & scooters with red, white and blue to ride down the town's Main Street.
After a brief ceremony conducted by one of the town's councilmen (substituting for the Mayor), children were given a quick lesson and talk from the town's Police regarding bike safety. Children and their parents then rode through the town displaying their patriotic pride. After the parade's conclusion at least one merchant provided free lemonade and hot dogs to the participants.
A very enjoyable event and an exquisite taste of Americana!
my neice is the one who made the highbridge school logo on those t-shirts. She won that contest and her logo of a head riding a bike became the schools logo on a t shirt.
