This game was played in Clichy France on September 17 2011. After being away from chess competition in the past few years, Garry Kasparov played 2 exhibition blitz games against the current 2011 French champion Maxine Vachier-Lagrave. The games were part of his promotion of chess in schools and for the Kasparov Chess Foundation. Garry Kasparov has proved once again that he still has what it takes to play against the top players in the world. Vashier-Lagrave had to play first against the 2010 French champion Laurent Fressinet, in order to win the right to play against the 13th World Champion Garry Kasparov.
